I am not able to navigate folders on newly created DVDs. The player recognizes the folders but does not allow me to access the files within. What am I doing wrong? When I am burning them to the DVD is there a setting that I should change?

  1. I don't think you are able to navigate through a burned DVD that has data files. If you plug in your USB flash drive, then you should be able to do it.

    Quick trick though

    Turn on the unit

    Open the loading tray

Press the "Setup" button on the remote

Navigate to the "Preferences" page using the right key arrow on the remote

    Enter 138931

You will be able to see your current region code in use

Use the Up/Down arrow keys on your remote to select the region code or select "0" for all regions

Press the "Play" button on the remote

With the "0" region code, you are able to play a DVD from any region.

  2. TV Guy is correct. Really, you have a computer, not home theater question here. I suggest you might want to post your computer related questions in the "Computers & internet" forum for the bests and most authoritative answers.

  3. You are not supposed to navigate folders in a DVD player!

When you create a true DVD disc (and not a data disc), it creates an index file which is used by the DVD player to show you the Title main menu.
