What is the correct fuel to oil mixture for a 75hp Johnson outboard motor?

  2. It depends on the year your 75 hp outboard was made.

    1963 and before, quote from the owners manual:  

    "Mix 1/3 pint of SAE 30 MOTOR OIL type MM to one gallon of gasoline". This is a 24:1 mix.

    1964 and later, the owners manual says to use "1/6 pint of OUTBOARD motor oil to each gallon of gas". This is a 50:1 mix.

    The difference appears to be in using Motor Oil versus Outboard Oil, however I would still use the 24:1 mix with outboard oil for a 1963 or prior engine just to be safe.
