What is the correct leave status for a federal govt employee being investigated?

Employee is currently under investigation and is not allowed to go to work. What leave status i.e. annual leave or administrative leave should the employee be placed on until results of investigation.

  1. You only get investigated if your not in the inner circle of power.


  2. All this info should be in the HR manual.  Call HR, and you can find this actual policy you need

  3. In the Department of Defense-----

    The employee can use their own annual leave if they choose to, along with compensatory leave and any award leave they may have.  Once their own leave is depleted, they will be placed in LWOP (Leave Without Pay Status).  Once they are in LWOP status, they can choose to continue their benefits but it will be at their own cost.Ultimately each agency is responsible for administering their own leave programs, but to the best of my knowledge, this is the way it is across the board.  Here is the Office of Personnel Management website for leave....http://www.opm.gov/oca/leave/index.asp
