What is the correct protocol to reply to a Freecycle offer?

  1. Usually those groups have their rules posted in the files section.

    Or contact the group owner for specific instructions.


  2. You can hit reply for that message, just make sure it goes to the individual, not the group.

    Manners count! Most people don't like a plain "I'll take it." Maybe something like "I've been looking for one of these for months, I'll give it a good home."  Or whatever else is true (but don't send a whole book, a sentance or two is enough!).

    Provide a phone number, and a range of prompt pick up times, if possible.

    Also, I know that I tend to pick people who have also given stuff away on the Freecycle group. So look around the house and see what you have to offer. It doesn't have to be spectacular - moving boxes are often popular, for example.

    I often end my request with "Whatever you decide, thanks for offering this on Freecycle!"
