  1. guardrail is closest

look on your swingarm or better yet read the manual luke

most people run 36 front 42 rear or 34/40

you never run street pressures on the track or ripping thru the mountains

sidewall pressurs are the maximun allowable pressure

    NOT THE RECOMMENDED PRESSURE

  2. 38 psi to 40 psi for a smoother ride and to be more fuel efficient run at 40 psi ,for more traction in turns and for riding canyons or mountain roads run 38 psi

  3. its written on the sidewall of the tire

  4. look on the swingarm

  5. Yamaha recommends 36psi

Up to 42 when riding with the maximum load of the bike.

  6. 51 is 100% correct.

Once again the numbers on the side wall are max pressures on sport tires, cruisers may be different or why would so many guys post that, but for sportbikes go off of the numbers on the swingarm.  If anything those numbers are abit high but not by much.

  7. Why do people keep saying look on the tire? That is NOT the right pressure. Most bikes are 38 psi front and back and 40 psi in the rear if your carrying 2 people. But look in the owners manual to be sure. Some bikes it's listed on the swingarm.

  8. Depends on the brand and model of tire, how much you weigh and the riding you do, and what you want ie: more traction or longer wear. The print on the side of the tire is max inflation, probably not to conducive to good handling although the tires may last a bit longer.
