  1. There are many different types of punch, and reading descriptions of them over the internet is not going to be much help. If you want to learn to fight, join a boxing or other martial arts gym.


  2. it depends. the most basic punch is the jab its just a straight punch that rotates 90 degrees.

Rotation of the hip, a good fist shape, stable straight wrist, pivoting of foot, quick retraction, and proper breathing. Ask a more specific question if you want to know more.

  5. If you're using just a regular punch, like most people think of it, you should be punching with the first two knuckles (your index and middle finger); they can take the most pressure. Make sure you have a good, solid stance with your hands up by your face; for more power, twist your hips or pivot your foot.  Also, do not fully extend your arm; keep it slightly bent, or you can overextend your elbow.  Punch fast, and bring your hand back fast to avoid the other person trapping your hand.  Breathe out; a silent kia, if you know what that is.  Don't telegraph by cocking back your hand; just let it fly from your face.
