  1. If you want to make it louder, turn up the volume.

  2. Stupid question. If you hooked it up right and your amplifier impedances are correct, crank up the volume and destroy your high frequency hearing. I've been in the recording industry since 1966 and nothing gives me more pleasure than idiots destroying their hearing by "cranking up the volume" in spite of every medical study that says "The first thing to go is your high-frequency sensitivity". Live long and prosper when you are deaf. Yeah, I've heard it before, If it's too loud, you're too old! But I have my recording studio and am turning out great sounds!

  3. If you make it too loud, the L/R speakers drown out the center and you dont even notice the rear speakers.

You should LEVEL-ADJUST your speakers.  Get a Radio Shack sound meter, a setup DVD like Avia or Digital Video Essentials and go through the tutorial.

Then you adjust the volume per disk, but all 5 speakers and the sub will track so sounds stay at the proper levels.
