It really depends on loads of different things

the main one is location location location.

They could be anything from millions to £150,000 but those are the worse off

you can get many 1 and 2 bedroom flats just out of the center in such places as west hampstead and Sheppards Bush for £250,000 - £300,000 +. and all of these areas have nearby underground stations making it easy to get around town

A good site to look at is http://www.rightmove.co.uk/

On the left hand side they have an option to search for houses near certain underground stations. A great place to look is in the zone 2 area and the edges of zone 1 and 3. once you choose your station you get an option to specify your search with maximum prices and a radius.

I think a great thing to do is click on a central station such as Covent Garden and put the radius to 5 - 20 miles with your maximum price. That way you will find some great houses all around town, and may even find some flats right in the center of town. So basicly you could find a right gem in your searches. Keep on looking every week and then define your search to house that have been added in the past week or even 24hours, houses keep on coming up on this site by the hour and is a great place to look for your home!
