it is a housekeeping business and only me and my husband work. but i was told that i need insurance.

Yes, you should definitely have insurance.  It protects you and your clients.  Get a general liability policy and an $1,000,000 umbrella policy.  The general policy will be based on your annual revenue, the umbrella will probably cost about $150.00 a year.  Probably talking about 2-3K per year for a good policy.  Check with Zurich, they are very small business friendly.

  3. Liability insurance for businesses is rated based on the liability exposure (likelihood of a claim).

    Housekeeping should be considered a good exposure, which means that you should be able to find pretty decent rates.
