  1. you can't buy one, unless you know someone who was in the Olympics who is willing to sell one to you, which most people probably aren't. but i'd imagine it would be at least a few thousand dollars, maybe one hundred thousand.

if you know a metal crafter you could get them to make you a fake one though.

  2. fitty nine, ninety five.

you also get this super duper yo-yo

    but wait, there's more...

you also get this commemorative feather

all this for the incredible low price of $59.95

    5 E-Z payments of only $11.99

    don't wait call today

  3. For Michael Phelps, it's $125,000 each. (Speedo will pay him $1 million for winning 8 golds)

But for actual medal 'metal' costs, prices are perhaps:

    ~$300 for gold

    ~$200 for silver

    <$150 for bronze

But this website has interesting info:

    http://www.bargaineering.com/articles/pr...

"If we price gold at $540 an ounce, or $19.08 a gram. Six grams would cost $114.48. If we figure the medals are at minimum specifications, then there would be 74 grams of silver (the other 92.5%) which would cost about $9.10 per troy ounce, or $0.32 a gram, for a silver price of $23.76. That puts the price of the precious medals in an Olympic gold medal at $138.24. Olympic silver, at 80 grams of pure silver, would cost $25.60. But who only makes a minimum sized Olympic medal?

The Salt Lake City medals weighed a hefty 20 ounces (heaviest ever to that point), or about 560 grams, for a price tag of about $291.76 for gold (554g of silver for $177.28 plus 6g of gold for $114.48) and $179.2 for silver..."

  4. I'm not sure but I know my D.A.R.E Gold Medal was worth $0.89 USD.  So i'm assuming theirs are about $1.09 USD.  Seeing how it's a wee bit bigger event!

  5. Phelps gets 25,000 per medal  just for winning.  Whatever Nike pays him is on top of that.  Not a bad haul, eh?
