I am emigrating as a qualified Primary teacher and as far as I can tell I will be earning less tha £10,000 per year. Is this comparable to the cost of living out there? Will I be able to survive?? It seems such a small amount compared to the £22,000 I'm on here.

  1. So that's about $27,000 NZ dollar.

Seems underpaid to me!   Is this with or without all the extra allowances?  What school is this at?

  2. you definetly should not be earning the equivalent of less than 10,000 pounds a year as a FULLTIME primary teacher, most earn around $40,000 to $50,000NZ (14,600 - 18,951 pounds)  and of course there are heaps of extra allowances etc.
