  1. If you mean "living" as in vacation and staying at a hotel, you can count about (and this is just a rough estimate because prices will vary depending on what class of hotel you stay in) 65 Euro a night for a hotel room, per person.  Food, I would estimate 30-40 Euro per person per day.  More if you eat at places with meals costing more than 10 Euro per meal.

If you meant to actually live in Germany, you can count on at least 500 Euro a month for rent, another 200 Euro a month of water, electricity, gas, and trash.  Add in 50-150 Euro a month for telephone and internet (depending on how much you call), and you're already getting close to 1k euro a month.  That doesn't take in to account car expenses or train/street cars (bahn & strassenbahn), food, drinks, insurances (mandatory to have insurance here), and general "want to have" items per month.

Germany is not a cheap place to live.  And living in a city like Wiesbaden will just make it more expensive.  Living in any major city will be more expensive than living in a smaller town.

  2. Wiesbaden is on the expensive side - if you have to get a place to rent and you want a decent place with more than 1 bedroom you´ll most definitely pay 600 € and up.

If all you need to know is the cost of food it also depends on whether you´ll be able to cook somewhere or need to eat out all the time. Restaurants in Wiesbaden are not cheap either and you should not restrict yourself to only indian food - there are so many choices out there! Anything from 3 - 300 € a meal can be found in that city...

If you are able to cook for yourself your cost will of course drop considerably! There are good and cheap stores to buy rice, potatoes, vegetables, meat etc.. such as ALDI´s, LIDL and other discount places that carry high quality low cost items.

Hope you enjoy Wiesbaden, I personally prefer the neighboring city of Mainz as it is less stuck up and does not try to be sophisticated all the time :-D

Oh yeah, and it´s 2000 years old..smile.. great place to be!

  3. Wiesbaden is the capital state Hessen. It is very expensive but a nice nice city. The prices is very high. Living like rent, utilities is very high. They have all kind international restaurants there and the prices is also very different.
