  1. low salary there

you won't be living too well on that amount of money

  2. Need more info to answer properly. Is that your gross salary or net? Are you single or supporting a family? Do you want an apartment or do you need a house? What city did you have in mind?

  3. Depends on the city and if that's before or after taxes.

If it's before taxes, that's $45,000 a year.   It's a relatively low salary, but not minimum wage by any means.  You'll be able to afford an apartment and groceries and going out money in most cities quite easily on that.

Remember, taxes in Canada are quite high, but they include health care and a lot of other extras.

  4. toronto is the second most expensive city in north america to live. vancouver is pretty expensive too. so it all depends on what province. but with that salary, you should be fine.

  5. The average, hourly Canadian, salary is $19.09. That would come out to 3308.93 a month. So your salary is a little above average. However, it depends on where in Canada you are. It would be tough to make it on that salary in Toronto, but a lot easier if you were in Montreal.

  6. The cost of living is high, but you'll be quite comfortable on that salary.  However, the cost of living can vary dramatically from city to city.  If you're moving to a major metropolitan area like Vancouver or Toronto, you'll probably need to rent an apartment or get a roomate to help with living expenses. Also, check for housing in nearby suburbs instead of in the city.  Congratulations!
