I'm getting concrete poured into my backyard but I don't know how much it usually costs. I don't know if the price is per square yard, per cubic foot or what? I'm paying a company to do it for $3,200 is that too much. I'm not sure how big my yard is.m

  1. Concrete is measured in cubic yards.  you can figure out approximately how many yards you need by multiplying the length of the slab by the width of the slab by the average depth of the slab all in feet and dividing that number by 27.  Call your local pre-mix concrete companies in the yellow pages and ask what they are charging per yard delivered for that amount.  Subtract the concrete cost from the bid and then check the local yellowpages for concrete finishers.  find out what they are charging to finish concrete per square foot.  you can calculate square feet by multiplying the length by the width of the slab.  Then you will know if your contractor is in the ball park.

  2. If you live in Australia check this pricing guide out, if you are overseas I'm sure hey have similar guides.

  3. before you get the concrete down in your backyard, you have to ask how much do I pay the company to put down the concrete,  money wise, yes $3,200 is way to much to pay a company to put in concrete down for you when you get a chance to watch tv watch full house.
