  1. Actually, "The Running of the Bulls" in Pamplona is called "el encierro" in Castillan Spanish.  "La corrida de toros" is the actual "bullfight."  It is correct that the traditional, current-day clothing for "el encierro" is a white shirt and white pants with a red sash.  A red handkerchief is added to the costume only upon and after the start of the celebration indicated by the "txupinazo" ceremony where a small rocket is launched to signal the official beginning of the festivities.  Prior to this event, it is easy to pick out the foreigners in the crowd, as they have prematurely donned their hankie.  Locals may also add a jacket of sorts to the outfit.

  2. they wear a t-shirt and a hankacheif around their neck

and its called (corrida de toros)

  3. The men who run with the bulls generally wear all white with a red handkerchief tied around their necks.  I suppose the handkerchief is to mop up any blood...(just kidding).

Don't really know what it's called, though.

*Edit*  It's ALL white, and I don-t think it's got a name, as it really isn't a "costume" so much as the uniform that indicates to the HUMANS who is in the running.

The Pamplona locals have since honoured him with a festival in his name. Everyone dresses in white, with a red bandana, and red sash, in memory of the blood shed by the martyred Saint.
