  1. Culture in Spain is very rich and interesting. It is a latin culture. Major cultural cities are Barcelona and Madrid, plus Sevilla. From museums to architecture, from dancing to music, you can find all kind of cultural events in all cities.

  2. I just visited Madrid and the surrounding area in September.  I'll try to address some specific topics about the culture. FOOD/EATING: Spainish typically eat dinner late.  Restaurants start serving dinner at about 8PM and go till midnight or longer.  If you need to eat earlier, you can survive on Tapas, which are small portions (like appetizers) of a variety of foods. Many restaurants have tapas bars. It's cheap and good! An order of 3 or 4 will satisfy. SIESTA TIME: Besides restaurants, most attractions and business close between 2pm - 4/5 PM.  Plan your day accordingly. However, places will stay open later, say til 7 or 8 pm. LATE NIGHTS: the Spanish enjoy eating, drinking and socializing late..midnight and beyond. DRESS: Next to the Italians, the Spanish are next on fashion. Men and women (particularly women) dress very attractively. BULL FIGHTS: This is still a big sport in Spain. You may want to experience a live bull fight. They are everywhere, even in some small towns.  However, it's faily brutal and bloody on the bull.

Hope this helps!  Have a good trip!
