  1. Its the Balboa.  Not very known because its just an official name but for US dollars are the ones circulating.  You will only find coins as Balboa cents or one Balboa dollar coins.  Not bills.

  6. The Panamanian currency is the balboa, fixed at parity with the United States dollar.

  7. Balboa, it has the same equivalence as the US dollar, and in bills US dollars are used.

    Coins are different but they are the same size and shapes as their US counterparts.

    They come in 1 cent,  5 cents, 10 cents, 25 cents, 50 cents denominations.

    US coins are also accepted in everything from coke machines to stores.

    There is no conversion rates on the Credit Card Statements, all transactiona are posted in US dollars.

    You do not have to exchange money if you travel to Panama, you just use the dollars you have from the States.

    As a general trivia, you have the figure of the indian named Urraca on the 1 cent, of the Spanish conquistador Balboa on the 25 cents and 50 cents.
