What is the current law regarding importing trucks into Mexico?

What are the acceptable years? I know for cars they have to be '98.

Any official info. is appreciated!

  1. If you are a foreigner you can bring any car into Mexico, your car only has to go back every 6 months to renew the permit.

    You can legalize a car that is 10 years older or even older.

    But the goverment stop giving this legalizations, since a lot of junk is coming into Mexico, and is affecting the enviroment and the biggest reason is that due to the heavely imports of those old cars ( more than a million last year) the New cars  sales stall instead of increase.

    So I don´t think is a good time to be thinking of legalized a car.


  2. if you live in los angeles, there are a million places that will do the paperwork for you....they have connections with the mexican dmv and mexican customs.
