What is the current tax rate on oil company profits?

For all the debate about whether they are being taxed enough, I'd like to know what their current tax rate is on their "obscene" profits.

  1. You might be able to find out what their current tax rate is.  I'd wager that it's very different from what they actually pay in taxes.  That, you won't find out.


  2. Look up Corporate tax code.  It is much larger than what we as individuals pay.  You also need to take into consideration all the permits, etc they have to pay and file.

  3. I would imagine the profits are pretty well laundered,and the subsidies ease the pain. Plus, unlike most businesses that spend on R&D, oil companies spend almost nothing, but depend on taxes for drilling, after which there is little or no return to taxpayrs.
