I am on antibiotics starting today, and tomorrow night there is a party where I wish to drink alcohol. Should I not take the antibiotics tomorrow? What is the risk of drinking alcohol while on antibiotics? Does it just make you more drunk? Or is there something bad that can happen? Please don't just reply with 'don't drink' - I probably won't, but I'm just wondering.

  1. You will lessen the effect of the antibiotic.

  2. they will stop working and you might die or get seriously sick

  3. If you drink alcohol while taking antibiotics, the alcohol will cause the antibiotics in your body to become ineffective and whatever illness you have will take longer to get over and you could become worse off than when you began the medication.

  4. i don't recommend it whats so ever but it will lessen effect of antibiotics and sometimes can have bad effect and kill you

  5. don't drink the alcohol instead because once you have stopped your antibiotic after you have started it, the antibiotic won't work anymore when you go back to it, which means that you will need a new antibiotic in order to treat whatever it is you need treatment for. If you choose to drink the alcohol while on an antibiotic the alcohol could interfere with the antibiotic and this could possibly reduce the antibiotic's effectiveness. Nothing bad happens to you, it is just that alcohol and antibiotic should not be taken together if you want the antibiotic to work.

  6. The antibiotics will be less effective, and depending on which antibiotic you are taking, there may be other side effects from the combination.

(In my opinion, people should not drink if they are taking ANY medication.)
