  1. No matter what...it's temporary. The need for potash , nitrogen, phosphurous fertilizers is only growing and growing...forget ethanol and corn...the whole world is " eating better" and once they get used to it the demand increases on farmland and governments...to provide more and more.

    ...and those nutrients, especially potash, are in limited supply ( cannot be " created", needs to be mined ! )  ipso facto...price and profit goes UP.


  2. More specifically, Corn has been following Oil down.

  3. Commodities and oil have been dropping based on decreased demand reports, slowing global economies, US more aggressive on interest rate hikes, China refusing to pay top dollar for fertilizer anymore, and technical breakdown in the charts.

    The trend right now has moved out of commodities and into financials. Don't know how long this will last, but that is the current trend.
