What is the deal with bpa free stuff?

im going to be buying bottles this week and i want the first years breast flow set but i heard its not bpa free.

  1. I bought the breast flow bottles, and asked my doctor about the bpa thing. She said if you warm the bottles under hot running water rather than putting them in boiling water, then the risk of leaking bpa is reduced significantly. Good luck.


  2. BPA is being dubbed as harmful, especially when heated up. I believe it includes all plastics with the #7 in the recycling arrows on the bottom. I had a Camelbak water bottle with a #7 and recently bought a new one at REI that is BPA free. I wouldn't risk it with the bottles, you can find some that are BPA free. It's always something you know? We all grew up with #7 stuff I'm sure and we're all fine...it's up to you.  

  3. bpa is supposedly some harmful chemical found in some plastics.  

  4. Playtex is bpa free and if you go to their site they will send you a free bottle with bags to go in the bottle I love playtex nursers
