What is the deal with the BZ 5'2" Fish soft Top Surf board? I am a die hard, hard core bodyboarder (w/ a VS Mitch Rawlins signature I ride all the time all day ) and I also just bought a BZ 5'2" Fish Soft Top Surf board because I thought it looked fun. But it is really hard to get up and ride partly because I'm a bodyboarder and don't know what waves are right for a 5'2" Fish Soft Top Surf board. How do I get up? What waves should I look for for riding a 5'2" Fish Soft Top Surf board?

  1. How big are you?  A 5'2" softtop is ridden like any other 5'2" surfboard, not a body board. You may just be too big for it. Buoyancy is more important in a surfboard than a body board.

It probably has nothing to do with the waves. Check out a larger board (rent one) and see if you don't notice the difference.

  2. your probibly to big

  3. u get up with the three step pop up, if ur a beginer

    step 0: paddle

step 1: pushup and arch ur back

step 2: bring one knee up so one foot is on the board, and the other is bent at the knee, like kneeling

step 3: twist ur body so youre standing up on the board

u shuld take a surf lesson first,

but that board is for really good little kids who dont want a hardboard yet,

never start on a fish, they are fun, easy bords, FOR EXPERIENCED AND REALLY GOOD RIDERS, if youre not a good surfer, a fish is ur worst nightmare

start on a 7' or 8' soft top bord

then start in the inside on 1'-3' waves, and the go to the outside for 2'-3' swells

  4. I am a bodyboarder too, but the few times I have been surfing I always just get up dropknee, make the bottom turn and then stand up.
