What is the deal with this nightmare I've had 2 times in a row!?

Ok, so I've had basically the same dream 2 nights in a row! it's driving me nuts.

Well ok, I think i know a little why the dreams happen. See, every couple of months, my family measures me and my two step-sisters, I'm the oldest. Now I'm 20 and I've always been the tallest but a few days ago we measured, and my 18 year old sister is now about a half inch taller than me. I knew she was close, but not that close!

And so, 2 nights in a row I've had a dream where my sister was laughing at me and pointing her finger at me. And as she laughed I shrunk smaller and smaller and smaller until finally I was like a speck next to her giant toes. I try to run but it's one of those lame dreams where you try to run, but you run sooooo slow. And she laughs harder and finally squishes me.

I want the dreams to stop but I'm wondering if there's a special meaning or something I should do. I mean 2 times!! Jeez! I dunno, what do you guys think? :P

  2. Well, i'm thinking that the the fact that your sister is now taller than you bothers you a little. Dreams are usually created from thoughts you've had throughout the day or past few days. Your brain can't make something out of nothing. The fact that your sister is laughing at you makes me think that you are afraid that her and other people are actually laughing at your height. The fact that you shrink makes me think that you feel like a smaller person (not physically, mentally)

    Are you insecure?

My words of wisdom, dreams pass, you'll get over it!

P.S: You're 20, you'll still probably grow for another year or two, you might catch up to her again.

  3. In real life, since you are the oldest, do you feel like you have to be in control over your sisters? You've got to let go of your subconscious insecurities of not being in control of the situation. I'm sure your sister is simply taller and not taking over the world from you. Relax, try to be a better person about it -- make a joke, be good to your sisters. Don't over obsess over your heights. I mean come on, you are 20 yrs old, not 5.

And next time you go to sleep, drink a glass of water and think about what you are going to do if you happen to see that dream again. Try not to shrink.

  4. It's your dream. Take control. Get bigger than her and squish her with your giant toes.

  5. Ahh, I love analyzing dreams..

    Here's what I think:

I think it could be maybe that there's something you're insecure about, and you're maybe thinking about how other people will look at you and that insecurity grows and grows until it feels like you're not in control of it, and instead it's in control of you.. Maybe you felt like you couldn't run because it weighs you down or something.  It doesn't necessarily have to be your height, or anything related to that, but maybe your mind was relating that to something else you're insecure about.  I don't know, but I always think I feel alot better after I pinpoint what it is that I'm kind of subconsciously referring to in these kinds of dreams.

Haha, I don't know, but that's kind of what it seems like to me.

    Hope it helps! :)
