  1. there is no single default ip address.

there are various IP address blocks which are reserved for internal use 192.168.1.x*x is one of them, but there are plenty of others. it depends entirely on the manufacturer of the original equipment as to what IP address they use.

its almost certainly a 192.168 series address, but it may not be

the easiest way to find the ip address of your gateway to is open a dos window  (command prompt) and type ipconfig /all and look for the default gateway in the resultant stream

  2. I believe it is  192.168.1.1  try that! good luck

  3. also you can use   192.168.1.1 or just type  "myrouter" it works with me, usually "admin" is used as password and user name

  4. 192.168.1.1

    or at least 192.168.?.???

    first ? is usually a 1 but can be a 0 or 2

the second is anwhere from 1 to 255 and is usually at either end of the scale

  5. Broadband connection

    192.168......... so on

    gateway 255.255

    click start, run, type cmd

    type ipconfig

    cuul

  6. its generaly something like 192 168 254 254

go to command prompt and type ipconfig then look at your default gateway, thats your router's ip address.

  7. older speed touch router used to use 10.0.0.138.

if you are already connected to that router, right click on the network connection icon beside the clock at the lower right corner of your desktop, choose "status"  then choose "support"  the gateway is your router.

  8. it depends on your brand and model

it can sometimes be difficult as well to get into the control panel of routers

you do the steps and all of the sudden it pops up

    The standard ip adresses -

linksys and some others -  192.168.1.1

    d-link and smc -   192.168.0.1

the account is admin and the default password in your manual

if the router is not new and the password has been changed

reset to factory defaults - hold a pin in the reset button in the back

If you have trouble getting into the router control panel follow these steps

    1) reboot

    2) internet explorer > tools > options > lan settings > uncheck all > apply

    sort of http://support.microsoft.com/kb/135982

    but uncheck all

if not try firefox as an alternate means of trying to get into your control panel of the router

    http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/

you may find that you cannot get in and then wam you are in

  9. Go to command prompt type in ipconfig /all

take a note of the Gateway, that is your routers IP. and use that to get into your router.

  10. It depends on the router. It's usually one of the following or something similar:

    192.168.0.1

    192.168.1.1

    192.168.1.254

Check your instruction manual, the manufacturer's website, or http://portforward.com

  11. There is no 'default' address for routers, only a default address for models of router. The address will be in the 192.168.*.* range (where the * can be any value from 0-255)

    HTH

  12. If you have a router its normally written on it somewhere or in the info booklet that comes with it,otherwise use internet to find your model and download manual. However it should be something like:192.168.1.1,or 192.168.1.2 etc.

You type it in the address bar.
