  1. Infarction is a loclized area of dead tissue (necrotic mass) which is replaced by fibrosis . gangrene differs i some aspects
    if the infarct area is exposed to septic conditions as in case of intestine . the parasitic organisms (e.g bacteria) secretes enzymes that cause putrefaction which cause the tissue to appear black
