What is the deffrence between a rare budgie and a regular budgie?

I just got two new budgies I was wondering what the deffrence between rare budgies and regular budgies was?

  1. Eye color as well. My last budgie was a Lutino (A form of albinism) with red eyes. I don't know if Lutino's are considered "rare" though. They definitely aren't "regular" or standard budgies. Hopes that helped some...


  2. The difference is feather color. Some colors are harder to come by because they are caused by a genetic mutation or a recessive gene. This means they occur less frequently, which makes them "rare".

  3. Feather color, being albino (All white with red eyes), and size(English Parakeet is bigger in size than a regular parakeet and is used in shows).
