  5. A discussion is exchanging ideas.  An argument is an exchange of emotions.

Discussion will happen only when either one or all party decided to think we r not going anywhere by arguing, since the matter itself need to be concluded n solved, that we need to discuss it in order to find a way out of it.

  7. An argument is a pointed statement.

A discussion is when two or more people share their arguments with one another.

Wet end to over complicate these simple definitions. That is how we turn an argument into a fight and a discussion into a free for all.

  11. Literally Discussion means two or more people have different opinion and they talk it out, make compromise to find one solution. Meanwhile Argument means two or more people have different opinion and they have no comprimise but against others opinion and the most powerful opinion will be taken as solution.

  14. Discussion is simply an exchange of ideas, some in agreement, others in opposition.

A discussion becomes 'heated' or 'emotionally charged' if strongly opposing views begin to emerge; then it can develop into an argument or even a fight.

An argument is usually between two parties, each trying to convince the other, often by use of forceful words, that he or she is right.

The defining line could be the change of tone or the refusal of someone to accept other points of view.
