  1. It's made up, but I know that "Splinter Cell" is the name of a video game (for the XBox, I think).

    It probably means "to go crazy and shoot everyone". That's my guess, however.


  2. Splintercell is a violent video game.

    "To go Spintercell" would definitely mean that somebody has lost their reason and started shooting everybody around them.

    Similar idioms include:

    "To go Columbine" (referring to the tragic incident at a US high school when two students started shooting their peers and teachers before killing themselves).

    "To go Postal" (because several post office workers did something similar in the past)

    A newer version might be "To go  Seung-h*i Cho", or "to go all Cho on somebody", where "Cho" is the person who perpetrated the Virginia Tech shootings.
