I did a search for unclaimed money and that is what came up next to my name? So, I'm wondering do I owe money or is money owed to me? The state is NY.

Outstanding checks are checks issued by an organization that remain uncashed because the payee does not “present” them to the bank for payment. Uncashed and unpresented checks make up a large portion of the unclaimed property reported to the Department of Revenue.
