  1. "Driving with Due Regard" is mostly directed towards fire truck and ambulance drivers.

“All medics must drive with “due regard” for the safety of others using the highways. State vehicle codes provide and give special privileges to the operators or emergency vehicles, however, this does not relieve the operator from the duty and responsibility to drive with “due regard” for the safety of others.”

Under the general duty clause of the Occupational Safety and Health Act (OSHA), ambulance companies may be subject to fines and other penalties if employees are not adequately trained for driving or if they are injured as a result of their driving or their partner’s driving. OSHA has published guidelines for ambulance providers that include a Model Safe Driving Guidelines.
