Example, say you are testing a new drug.  you give the drug to some members of a test group and you give a sugar pill to another subset of the test group.

if only the participants in the test group are unaware of where or not if they are getting the drug or the sugar pill then you have a blind test.

if you and the participants do not know which pill is the drug and which is the sugar pill then you have a double blind test.

Double blind means neither the researcher nor the participants (people being tested) know which condition the participants are in. Blind testing just means the participants don't know which condition they're in
