I have a couple of Mates who have fought in Iraq, and some who still are (but haven't had any contact with them but through emails with their wives, and a couple of letters), and I know some of you have been there, also, and my English mate I can't contact now, who is in Afghanistan, so I have to email his uncle in England, but its so secret, he can't tell me much, so anyway, do the troops, since I don't know them all, just a few, know their supporters won't let Iraq become like Vietnam was? You guys and gals are in more contact than I, so can you give me a straight answer? Please no sweeping anything under the rug. Let me have it! Thanks loads!

PS, please any English soldiers respond, too? Thanks Mates, love ya too!

  1. To be honest, I feel that atleast the elderly, veterans, and women of America care more than the young, college students. I've heard some very horrid remarks regarding troops in Iraq even from people in our own country. Stuff like, "I wish those dumbass American soldiers would die." "They should've gone to college instead of fighting Bush's War." and etc. Of course it's always nice to hear praise from anyone. But I would rather hear praise from my peers, that are of my own age. Regardless of politics, you're putting your life on the line.

And then again, I don't think the troops over there care. We do our job, what we're told to do, what we signed up to do. Maybe it's not the best situation in a political sense, but Americans and British have both felt the wrath of terrorism (9/11, London bombings) this isn't something that's going to go away easily.

Much respect to your mates. Though most of the British soldiers called me "bloody yank" when I was over there trying to be nice to them.

  2. Hope your mates are fine.  there needs to be more support.  And we need to stand behind them all!
