So I`m just wondering what is the average age group for yahoo answers. that is to say who is providing the answers?

I`d also like to know more like what country most people from, what profession, why they are on yahoo answers I`d like to know this specifically in relation to the people who give answers.

I guess part of this is statistics and part of this is personal. My guess is that people on this site are mainly between 18-30. have jobs that give them plenty of access to computers and specifically the internet. Most likely jobs that offer a lot of time for bumming around. gender is an interesting one, i`m thinking this would be split down the middle. If someone could pull up genuinne statistics though though would be awesome.

  1. I'd say the age is more like 9-17.  A few adults are here, not many.  US citizen and some of us just check in to answer a few and leave.  I never stay for very long, it's a waste of time!

  2. yes

  3. Query this.  I assume you are younger with a shiny new computer and a broadbnd connection, otherwise you would not be so snide as to ASSUME,  I am 54 years old, laid off after a lifetime, to you of work, typing this on a 10 year old pc, win98.  Dial-up. Go bm and surf some [p**n and BLOG.

  4. I'm 25yo female Aussie. I'm now a company exec and usually only jump on Y!A at night after my kids go to bed and if my hubby is working night shift. I hope no one is on here in their work time.

I'm guessing the age bracket on here is mostly teens judging from most of the questions but I'd say there are a fair few adults on. They're just thinly spread, depending on which topic you head to you'll get different age groups.

  5. interesting question! I'm an 18 yo Aussie female. I suspect its mostly teens that use this site although many adults do use it to.

  6. I'm 37, female, from the U.S., and am a full time college student (studying psychology/counseling).

Different forums on Y/A are going to attract different age groups.  The forum I regularly post in is gender and women's studies, and most of the people there are older (like me)...but we have a few young ones.  Just not as many.  Forums like music and entertainment are going to likely attract a younger population, with some exceptions, of course.  It would be interesting to find out the overall stats...maybe you could ask Y/A directly for this information?
