  1. different depths, usually the deep end is 10 ft.

    and the shallows are 3.5 ft.

    it just has to be deep enough so people cant reach the bottom


  2. Yea, it really depends. In higher levels of play it is all deep, anywhere from 7-14 feet deep. But if your talking about like high school then you sometimes play in half shallow half deep pools and your penalized if your caught on the ground in the shallow end.

  3. From what I've read there is no regulated depth.  Ideally pools should be deep enough so that players can not use the bottom to their advantage.

    The reality, however, is that most water polo is played in pools with a shalllow and deep end.   In this case, it is a penalty for any player other than the goalie to use the bottom.   The goal in the shallow end is larger to compensate for the fact the goalie has an advantage.  Teams also switch sides.
