  1. in rugby when the ball hits the ground, the play dosen't stop. in football it stops and resets. the only breaks in rugby are after tries and penelties. but there is also after you are tackled and a ruck is formed and the ball is recycled into play.

  2. The only similarities between the two is tackling and the oval shaped ball ( one smaller ,gridiron, and the other , rugby, bigger) I reckon. There are heaps of differences but the one that comes to mind is that when some one gets a try, in rugby, it's celebrated as a team effort and the try scorer doesn't show boat like he's the center of the universe. A pat on the back from team mates, is enough. American foot ball on the other hand, they do the terrel owens, bigger than life, show piece, run around the field pumping fist in the air and standing  in front of TV cameras as though they the it thing,  after they score a touch down( kind of childish if you ask me) ha,ha,ha,ha!!!!!

  3. Well rugby is played as a no breaks game while NFL is played with shorter plays.

NFL is played with Larger Pads while rugby is played with a Gum guard and sometimes Light padding

In NFL you can tackle anyone while in rugby only the guy with the ball.

Both games you kick over poles at certain time and both are contact sports

  4. rugby is played by REAL men, 15 on the park to play the game,7 on the bench. If you get subbed off your days done unless its for blood( then they just wrap it up or staple it up and send you back on!) which means 8 players have to play the full 80 minutes. Not a team for first, secong third and fourth down, both offence and defence. Not to mention field goal team, punt team kickoff team, and oh yeah kick returns as well! I used to love football but since shifting to New Zealand and following rugby, just get bored to tears watching it. Too stop start

  5. Rugby has different rules and stuff you do, like a scrum.

and you have no padding, only a mouthguard.

and the rugby ball is a lot bigger than a football.

  6. Rugby is the best game in the world.

    Gridiron isn't
