What is the diference between a sonograph and an ultrasound?

I have an ultrasound coming up and I keep hearing people talking about sonographs.. I have no idea what that is. If it is a better form of ultrasound let me know!! I wanna know the s*x of teh baby right away!!

  1. I know there is no difference but I notice that older folks call them sonograms

  3. I THINK that ultrasound is the name of the machine, and sonograph is the print out, but ultimately they are the same.  Good luck

  4. I think an ultrasound is technically the sound waves that bounce off the baby producing the picture. The picture itself is called the sonogram/sonograph. It's pretty much the same thing...
