  1. No, but they are both spiral shaped. Rotini are flat and cork srew shaped. There are several kinds of Fusilli. Some look kind of like rotini, but when my family served fusilli the noodles were cylindrical and corkscrew shaped. I've added links to photos of both. You can see that they look similar. The pasta thing can be very confusing. Ultimately, if a recipe calls for rotini, you could use the flat fusilli and most people wouldn't know the difference.


  2. Just the shape.....Rotini is like a s***w shape and I think fusilli is like a longer, twisty Macaroni shape....hollow:

  4. rotini is a type of spiral pasta. it originated in italy. its spiraled to help hold a wide variety of sauces better.

    fusilli is also a spiral pasta orainating in italy.

    the only difference is that the rotini is larger, thicker, and curlier.
