What is the differe between LCD TV and a Plasma TV. Which one is the better choice now?

The technogoy for both TV is so similar now, then which one is the better choice now for watching HDTV and playing HD games like XP box 360 or play station SP 3? Even the price for both TV is very close. 42 inches Full HD TV now cause around $2,000/- . Which is the better brand now?

it depends on wat u are lookin for.....lcd has brighter more vibrant colours and plasma has a better shade of blacks and greys...plasmas are also better at handlin fast movin objects but if you are goin 2 play games on it lcds are betta as some images get 'burnt' into the screen and stay there all the time

Plasma tvs use more electricity, its very heavy, it suffers "burn ins" and best to watch in the dark, Lcd tvs use less electricity, very light compared to same size plasma tv, best to watch in a bright room cause lcd tv's screen surface is not as glossy/shiny as plasma tv screen and does not burn in.

Sony bravia is one of the best hd tv brands also my friend recently got a 37" samsung full hd tv which has this "gaming mode" and looks awesome.

LCD (Liquid Cristal Display) is the new technology, it has a 20 years life expectancy, HD ready, also it looks better, but it is more expensive.

Plasma is an old technology based on using a light reflecting gas, has a lower life expectancy, it has a lower display quality but it is cheaper than LCD.

My personal choice was SONY bravia 46”.
