  1. DSL stands for Digital Subscribers Line. DSL has different catageories like ADSL, HDSL and more. DSL is a broadband internet connection. broad band gives you high speed internet access. Basically all types of internet conections need LAN card. LAN card is a basic component to connect to a network. DSL connection needs DSL modem.

    Your question is not correct.

  3. Broadband is another name for High Speed Internet.  DSL is a form of broadband internet service.  There are other forms of broadband internet service including cable, Fiber Optic, T1, cellular & satellite.  DSL and cable are the 2 most common ones.

I think you might have meant to ask about the difference between DSL & Cable broadband.

To see which one is better, you would have to ask the ISP how much bandwidth you will get from each one.  Where I am from, Verizon DSL maxes out at 3MB/sec down,  while Road Runner maxes out at 9MB/sec down.  In my case the Road Runner cable internet is significantly faster than the DSL.

The drawback to the faster cable service is that it costs $15 more per month than the 3MB DSL.

In both cases, your computer connects to the cable modem or DSL modem with an ethernet cable or a USB cable.  Either one will work.
