  1. Here's one that India uses.  

    Non-conventional:   SHP: Small Hydro Power                  Wind: Wind Power          Cogen: Bagasse Cogeneration

    BM: Biomass power                        WTE: Waste to Energy

    I really can't cover all the detail they have.  Go to the link and you wioll get some clarity.  One of the problems is that non-conventional sources and revewable sources tend to get intermixed as terms in the discussion of this topic.  They are very similar, but not necessarily the same.
