  1. Yeah, there is basically no differnce between the two. I would say that HD Ready tv's are only t.v's. But if you buy a tft monitor, you can also connect it up to your computer and use it to watch movies on the computer too. So out of the two i would go for the tft, duude.

  2. None ... TFT stands for 'totally flat technology'. Any HD tv will be a flat screen, but not every flat screen will be HD.

Not all tv's HAVE to be HD capable in the future, but it's becoming increasingly common so market forces will eventually make it so.

  3. LOL-these guys make it up as they go along. TFT is a particular kind of LCD-it stands for Thin Film Transistor.

This is the technology used in all of the LCDs you'll presently find in the stores. See link.

As far as HD ready is concerned-the exact meaning of the term varies from country to country-in the US, it means the set is capable of displaying a 720P HD signal or better, but has no tuners built-in. Meaning, you would need to feed the TV from an external receiver, cable box or satellite box.

No, all TVs don't have to be HD ready, but if they have built-in tuners, then they must at least have an ATSC tuner.
