Is the installation different? I have narrowed the speaker system down to either pioneer and infinity speakers, any ideas for paticular models? im not getting an amp already have a panasonic cq-c7301u faceplate. I also dont want to spend an arm of a leg. Any model numbers for good infinity speakers or pioneer or premium pioneers would be good. thanks!

  1. it does not matter if you have different ones in the front or the back, but as a rule its better to put the better of the speakers in the front because you will hear those more over the ones in the back

go with infinitys over the pioneers everytime, there is no comparison, and if you dont ever plan to put an amp on them go with lower RMS wattage speakers because your radio could power them better (they would not be too under powered and close to their sweet spot)

the difference in the 2, 3, and 4 way speakers=

Full-range speakers contain all the speaker elements in one basket. In their simplest form they consist of a woofer for the lows, and a tweeter mounted onto the woofer to produce the highs. Some models will have additional drivers, like midrange or supertweeter. You should choose full-range speakers if you're looking to replace factory speakers with a minimum of muss and fuss.

Terms like "2-way" and "3-way" indicate how many separate frequency bands the speaker will handle. So a 2-way, full-range speaker has two drivers (a tweeter and a woofer) which handle, respectively, upper frequencies and mid-to-low frequencies. A 3-way speaker, on the other hand, might offer a tweeter to handle high frequencies, a mid-range driver to handle mid-range frequencies, and a woofer to handle lower frequencies. And a 4-way usually has a "super tweeter".

for model numbers you need to state the size you are looking for or the car model that they will be going into

  2. 4 way is overkill it has an extra speaker in it you can't even hear . It really depends on your car and if you want more or less tweeter. And yeah you should try to stay consistant with the speakers.

  3. Honestly, moving up to components would be my suggestion.
