  1. My daughter is 3 and she can wear both a 4 and a 4T.  Some differences I've noticed is that the 4t's have built in panties under the dresses and skirts and they generally just run smaller and shorter.  The same w/ a 24 month and a 2t.  I guess it just depends on what type of clothes you're needing.  If your child is still in a diaper, and you're looking for pants, then a 24 month is probably better because they have snaps in the crotch for easier diaper changes...but you have to make sure they're long enough.  A 2T would probably not have snaps in them, or at least I don't remember them having snaps in the crotch when my daughter wore that size???  And 2t's are generally longer in the sleeves, legs and lenght than a 24 month is.  Hope I helped some

  2. It depends on the manufacturer, but typically, a 2T is slightly larger than a 24 month size.  2 and 2T, as well as 4 and 4T are usually the same, although some manufacturers will have separate 4 and 4T sizes, with extra room in the "T" sizes to allow for diapers or training pants.

  3. The difference between a 24 months and and 2T is that 2T are made for toddlers that are probably not wearing diapers anymore.  They are slimmer than the 24 months which are for chunky babies or babies that still wear diapers.

Same for the 4 and 4T.  I believe the 4 are slimmer than the 4T. (T stands for toddler)

My son skipped the 24 months altogether because he was slender and stopped wearing diapers.

  4. 24 months is for babies who are inbetween 18-24 months. 2T is for babies who are inbetween two and three, such as a 26 month old.

4T is for a child inbetween three and a half and five. (depending on whether the child is exceptionally tiny or large for his or her age)

size 4 is a size, and does not mean its for four year olds. After 4 comes 6, 7, 8, 10, 12, and so on. Just because a child is a size 4, does not mean that they are four years old, just as, just because a child is size 12 does not mean that they are twelve years old.

So, it really depends on how small or large a child is for their age, but size four is generally for 4 and a half year olds to 5 year olds.

    Hope that helps!

  5. I noticed that some 24month clothes still have the snaps in them, while 2T clothes are longer. I'm not sure about the difference between 4 and 4T but I'm guessing it has to do with length and one is probably more petite than the other.

  6. It's my understanding that the T's are cut bigger in the bottom area to accommodate a diaper.

Also, the T's tend to be a bit shorter.

24 months is generally designed to be worn between 18-24 months while 2T is designed for a 2 year old.
