  1. My thought was that gossip was always "he said, she said" basically stories based loosely on facts. Where as the news is  based solidly on events?

  2. Don't argue.

    The difference is SUBJECTIVE -

    News tends to be:

    * of a higher "quality"

    * of more relevant

    * factual - i. not speculation/hearsay

    As these attributes are debatable what can be consider news vs what can be considered gossip can vary depending on the person asked.

    Most people agree though on cases at either extreme though - an update on a war overseas will be "news" while whatever Paris Hilton is up to now will not based purely on relevance (even if the war story is sketchy and the Ms Hilton story factual)

  3. gossip=fox news   news =CNN

    the difference is rumor vs the truth

  4. i'd say gossip is speculation and is a mix of fact and opinion, so would not be a reliable source of information as it may not even be true. News in the sense of journalism, i'd say is (usually!) backed up with evidence and does not contain any personal opinions and does not (usually!) have any bias towards one side or another.

  5. Rumors.

  6. Gossip just came up from people or individulas with conflicting facts,sources,evidences,etc..its merely hearsay conveyed to other person .While news (on paper,tv,radio) will bring informations based on reliable sources,facts,events,and any activities that delivers the truthfullness of what is going on.

  7. News is facts; that are of importance to the public.

    Gossip is malicious hearsay!
