  1. The main difference is they cost more as you go from left to right in your list :)

    There is not a lot of difference that is notable to the naked eye.  There is some difference in sharpness between the 480i setting and 1080i but otherwise you can't tell the difference if you are sitting at the recommended viewing distance from the TV for it's size.  The larger the TV the further back you should sit.  I think it's something like ten feet for every ten inches in diagonal size or something like that.  Sitting too close to any of those TVs for their size makes them look bad.


  2. For starts: 'I' means interlaced while 'P' means progressive.

    With Interlaced, first every other line is painted top to bottom, and then the other lines are painted. It takes 2 top to bottom scans to complete one full picture,

    With Progressive all lines are painted with each top to bottom scan.

    Progressive gives a better picture with less flicker.

    The numbers: 480, 720, and 1080 represent the total number of lines that make up the picture. The higher the number, the better the picture quality. With a large screen TV, this really matters.

  3. its the amount of pixles in the image ( the higher the number the better the image qualaty is )
