What is the difference between 7 string guitars and 6 string guitars ?

as a beginner , should i get a 7 string or 6 string , and does the notes differ from 6 string to 7 string .. and can i play all the songs of 6 string on 7 string with same notes ?

7 String guitars add a low B string.

If you are beginning you can get whatever you want but you probably want to start with 6 string.

But the notes are the same one each.

a the only difference is that a 7 string has one extra string (obviously)

it just adds an extra B string. so instead of E being the lowest string (lowest in sound, not position on the neck), B is the lowest string.

for a begginer, you should definitely get a 6 string. even most pro's use 6 strings. very few people decide to go and get a 7 stringed guitar.

and yes you can play the same songs.
