What is the difference between Belgian and "regular" waffles?

  1. To my knowledge, it's the same recipe. A Belgian waffle is usually much thicker and is served with anything from ice cream to strawberries. "regular" waffles kinda look like eggos and are basically served with syrup.

  2. I thought it was because they had malt in them. I looked on the Internet, and all I found was someone else saying "I thought they had malt in them" :)

  3. Except at certain restaurants, there's no difference in the recipe.

    They're larger and thicker, and usually topped with lots of fruit and whipped cream instead of syrup and butter.
