FBI is more like they show who they are and they are not hidden.

The CIA is involved in spying, intelligence, etc. (central INTELLIGENCE Agency).  The FBI is a crime investigation organization.

The FBI is more or less a polica and investigation arm of the FED, while the CIA is used to gather Intel outside of the US adn also has it's own paramilitary from subs to plans. The CIA can operate covertly in any part of the world.

The CIA is an organization that can sneak and had the full permission to spy, capture and prison person without a clear reason (national securety),and its prisons is unknown like guantanamo .

The FBI is an organization that has a high rank than police but it must have a good reason to arrest someone and its prisons are known to the public

so as said FBI= domestic ...... CIA = Foreigners

The main difference is their jurisdictions.  The FBI is mostly concerned with crimes within U.S. both civil and criminal.  The CIA has foreign intelligence oversight around the world.  However, they work together on issues that involve crimes or intelligence against the U.S. overseas,  involving FBI matters usually under their jurisdiction here in America.  They also work together to protect Americans targeted by individuals or organizations in other countries or extra-national organizations who have threatened or threaten Americans who've been outspoken and riled them.

The FBI uses the Patriot act to illegally sidestep the FISA court and spy on you.  The CIA waterboards you and sends you to Syria for harsher interrogation tactics.
