What is the difference between DECA and FBLA?

Do colleges prefer one over the other? What are your experiences in either club? I'm a freshman this year. :O

  1. DECA is marketing-oriented with contests emphasizing sales, customer service, advertising, management, and entrepreneurship activities.

    FBLA is more business-oriented: math, accounting, international business, computers, public speaking, job interview, English, business law, etc.

    There really is no "preferred" program; both are very respected programs, and putting it on your resume is pretty impressive.  

    Of course, as with any program, being a leader/officer is bonus points for your resume.

    I personally went to FBLA, and it was very enjoyable.
